G. Dave Teja passed away on August 7, 2010. He was born May 27, 1934 in Auburn, California to Bachan and Delle Teja. He was predeceased by his wife, Bille Ann Teja, his parents, Bachan and Delle Teja and his brother, Robert Teja. He is survived by his Family: Lorie Thomas (Bob) and their children, Lynell (Josh) of Sparks, NV, Kylie (Keith) of Loma Rica, and Mandy (Richard) of Yuba City; David Teja (Debi) and their children, Jordan and Josette of Chico; Tombi Page (Cliff) and their children, Hannah, Sarah, and Rebekah, of Loma Rica; and Great grandchildren, Lilian, Mason, Lindsey, Erik, Jacob and Elizabeth.

Dave graduated from Tierra Buena Elementary School and Yuba City High School. Upon graduation, he attended the University of California, Davis, and Sacramento State University. He was a police officer for the Marysville Police Department before he went to the University of Arkansas to begin his first year in law school. That is where he met and married his wife, Billie Ann Ray. They then moved to San Francisco where he finished law school at the University of San Francisco. He was promptly drafted into the Army and served in Greenland and Newfoundland. He then returned to Yuba City where he began practicing law. He worked as a Public Defender, was elected District Attorney of Sutter County in 1962. During his time as District Attorney, Dave prosecuted Juan V. Corona during his first trial at the age of 35, one of the youngest prosecutors in the state of California. This was a milestone in Dave's career ending with a conviction. He later became a Municipal/Superior Court Judge, and a Faculty member in the Criminal Justice Department at California State University, Sacramento.

He has many friends and family who have supported him throughout his life and he will b e a greatly missed community and family member. Besides practicing law, Dave enjoyed hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, and hunting, but most of all, he Loved telling all of his wonderful stories about his life. Dave never knew a stranger. He was a long time member of Enterprise Lodge, Wheatland Order of Eastern Star, Ben Ali Shriners, Sons of Norway, The Unitarian Universalist Church, and E Clampus Vitus. Dave loved his family dearly and looked forward to every occasion when they would gather. He will always be remembered for his Love of Life, his kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, his great devotion to his family, and All of his Wonderful stories about his life. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
