Eile O’Carroll, 75, of Ceres, passed away at Windsor Hampton Care Center in Stockton on Jan. 11 2010.
Eile was born in Igo, Calif. to Winfrey and Georgia O’Carroll and attended schools in Northern California. After graduation, he attended Modesto Junior College and furthered his studies in Geology and Heraldry at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. He made a living as a truck driver for many years while also learning various other skills including Jiu Jitsu. In fact, at one time he opened a studio where he taught Jiu Jitsu. In 1983, Eile was instrumental in reviving the Irish Clan “Clan Cian.” He was the chief of Clan Cian, which is based in Tipperary County, Ireland. On June 1, 1985, he married Gracy Block. Together they enjoyed traveling and meeting many Irish and Scottish dignitaries. The Clan Cian has roots that go back hundreds of years in Ireland.
Eile is survived by his loving wife, Gracy O’Carroll of Ceres; two brothers, Charles Keefer of Red Bluff and Wayne Walker of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Darlene Carroll of Kentucky; five children; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Allen Mortuary. A private burial will be held later at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
